MAY 19

DAY 12

York River Yacht Haven
to
The Tides Inn

The Fairfield Fleet has arrived to Tides Inn

Rough seas getting here but well worth it.

Fun Facts about George Washington

Fox hunting and fishing were Washington’s favorite sports. His grandson reported that George Washington once threw a piece of slate across the 250 feet wide river Rappahanock.

George bids adieu to Ann and Jim and Marcia and Harlan.
As 9 boats head north, 2 boats leave for home.
Because of rough seas, Annie Girl and Marlyn have decided
to stay in Yorktown one more day and start traveling south on Wednesday.

Apparently George doesn't have the stomach for rough seas.
We could hear him screaming as he was heaving into the bucket...
"this isn't the Delaware."

Report by
Marcia
And now we are two boats.  We bid goodbye to our northbound yachting friends, then relaxed with Bloody Mary's aboard Marlyn.  We were so relaxed, we gave up our plans for lunch at the River Inn.  Laundry and
napping took over the afternoon.  Ann, Harlan and Marcia went to the movies to see "Angels and Dragons, then all 4 of us went to an Italian restaurant for dinner, inappropriately named The Pizzeria since they had all kinds of Italian pasta.  Ordering was comical since our waitress spoke little English.  She is Sicilian and has been in this country only 6 weeks.  Jim ordered a Bud and she brought him a Bud Light.  He kept saying Bud and she kept saying Bud-a-Light.  Finally, with help from Milena, the owner, Jim got his Bud-a-weiser. and we were all happy.  Ann was the only one who stayed up to see the winner of Dancing with the Stars, the rest of us gave up and went to bed.
