Description - One of two major regattas of FHYC, the race is scheduled on the Friday before Commissioning Day. The fleet may be separated into two or more classes if there are at least three boats in each class. Anticipated classes are Pearson Ensign, and non-spinnaker PHRF. Additionally,
a separate class may be included for catamarans. The race will be scored using PHRF handicapping and Time on Time. If Ensigns race as a class under class rules they will have 15 seconds per mile subtracted from their handicap in assessing the overall winner. Awards will be given one for each three boats in a class. The overall winner will be the boat with the lowest corrected time over the course and will have its name placed on the Wilkerson perpetual Trophy in the Community Center.
The race will be conducted around marks on the Neuse River adjacent to Fairfield Harbour.

Rules. The race will be governed by the 2009-2012 Racing Rules of Sailing, the Sailing Instructions and the Ensign Class Rules if Ensigns race as a class. All entrants must be members of Fairfield Harbour Yacht Club and have a currently valid NC-PHRF or FHYC rating.

Captains’ Meeting- will be held near the docks at the Shoreline Marina at 1000 on Friday, April 24. Any changes to the Sailing Instructions will be available at the Skippers’ Meeting.

Schedule- the first warning signal will be scheduled for 1325. There will be a social after the race at 1700 hrs. The location will be announced at the Skippers Meeting. Results of the race will be announced. Crews, spouses and committee are invited. Please list names of your crew on the reverse side of the entry/registration form.

Entries- The application form below must be completed, signed and returned with a check for $25 made out to FHYC, to John Jackson, Race Chairman, 1210 Pelican Drive, no later than April 23 20087 so that rosters can be prepared.
